Thanks for your patience. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on the computer lately because of my fluctuating vision so editing my podcast had to take priority.
I had my laser surgery early Thursday morning and felt ok, just a little sore, for about 36 hours. Around 7pm Friday night, my eye started to swell up more and hurt quite a bit and I had a fairly bad headache that lasted a few days. The worst of the eye pain only lasted about 24 hours then subsided, so by Sunday morning, I was feeling much better. I alternated ibuprofen and acetominophen every two hours for that 24 hour period and didn't need to dip into the heavy duty percocet. This morning, I went back in to the clinic and they took out the 'bandage' contact. My vision should begin to clear slowly over the next 2 weeks. In the meantime, I can't swim and probably can't road ride but hey, the weather's still cold and crappy so who cares about that. :)
I went for a run and did 5 sets of pushups and crunches yesterday so I'm back in good training form. Today, I took off to rest up to do a 5k TT on the trainer tomorrow so I can send some data to my buddy Brian who is going to help me with my bike training plan for the next 8 weeks.
In the meantime, I am enjoying my 2 weeks off, getting some house stuff done, and starting to plan our trip to France this July. Whoo hoo! Can't wait!!!
